【摘要】:ThispartofBS5588givesrecommendationsforthemanagementoffiresafetyoverthelifetimeofabuilding,includingguidancefordesignerstoensurethattheoveralldesignofabuildingassistsandenhancesthemanagementoffiresafety.Italsoprovidesguidanceonfireequipmentandfiresafetymanuals.ThispartofBS5588providesgenericguidanceontheprovisionoffireprecautionsandfacilitieswithinabuilding.Itaddressestheissuesthatneedtobeconsideredduringthedesignprocessaswellasthosethatwillapplywhilstthebuildingisinuseorwhichneedtobetakenintoaccountwhenalterationstothebuildingortheuseofitarebeingconsidered.ThispartofBS5588isintendedforusemainlybybuildingdesignersandfiresafetymanagersortheirdelegatedrepresentatives.Itisalsointendedforusebybuildingowners,whoarelikelytoassumetheroleoffiresafetymanagerinsmallerpremises.ThispartofBS5588isnotapplicabletobuildingsunderconstruction(i.e.newbuildpriortopartialoccupation).
